Partner Introduction: Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives

The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, CEA) is a globally recognized public Research and Technology Organization.

With its high-level basic research, CEA develops solutions in low-carbon energy, digital, the medicine of the future, and defense and security.

In the CleanH2Shipping project, CEA leverages its expertise in electrical mobility technologies, including batteries, fuel cells, and power electronics.

Specifically, their work supports the development of OPEX-efficient H2 drive system operation. This includes modeling, performance and lifespan predictions, and a smart energy management system.

CEA will also contribute by assessing the techno-economic and lifecycle of the hybrid fuel cell propulsion system, focusing on fuel cell and battery key enabling technologies, and the viability of use cases.
