Kick-off Brussels

08/04/2025

Brussels, April 8, 2025 – The CleanH2Shipping project, a groundbreaking European initiative aimed at demonstrating zero-emission inland shipping powered by hydrogen fuel cells, officially launched in April 2025 with a kick-off meeting at the Clean Hydrogen Partnership in Brussels, Belgium.

This innovative project, running for 36 months, brings together leading partners from throughout the EU, encompassing the entire value chain from ports and technology providers to ship operators and research institutions. CleanH2Shipping aims to revolutionise the inland and short sea shipping industry by promoting sustainable and efficient hydrogen fuel cell technology.

During the kick-off meeting, consortium partners discussed the project's objectives, milestones, work packages, and collaborative efforts required to achieve a zero-emission future for inland shipping. The event marked the beginning of a significant journey towards building a robust hydrogen ecosystem in and around European ports.

All partners are happy that the project now has started and are looking forward to the joint project implementation.
